About

Hello! My name's Brendan Parmer. I'm a computer graphics software engineer.

In recent years I've been focused on building multi-display, immersive experiences with tools like Unreal Engine and C++. I've gotten to work on some really interesting problems.

Currently I work at Frasca, where we've brought a new commercial flight simulator from conceptualization to FAA qualification in a matter of months. We're tackling challenges like strict FAA regulations and customer expectations on quality and performance, latency between a pilot moving the joystick and seeing the result simultaneously on multiple projectors, and even the size and shape of the Earth.

I've also had the opportunity to work at Brunswick Corporation. During the summer of 2022, we developed a simulated boating experience for the company's 2023 CES exhibit, bringing an immersive ocean marina to the convention's desert location.

In my spare time I've developed Node To Python, a tool that converts Blender node groups into Python code for easier scripting.

I recently graduated from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Math and Computer Science.
